In 2006 Pervanovo acquired Admiral Ohmucevic summer castle in Slano bay, 20 kilometres northwest of Dubrovnik.
HistorySeveral members of the Ohmucevic family were successful seamen. Andrija Ohmucevic was an admiral in the Spanish armada and Petar Ohmucevic was an admiral in the Dubrovnik navy. The castle has a violent history. It was burned in 1806 by Serbs and Russians, and again by Serbs in 1991. Earthquakes in 1961 and 1997 damaged the castle and is now currenty completely in ruins.RenovationThe aim is to restore the castle and the 12,000 m² garden to its original beauty, combined with modern facilities and to use it as a hotel for mainly conferences and special events. Renovation is planned to start in 2011 and will take around three years. |
